Aurora and BayCare are separate, independent health care providers, serving patients in the Midwestern United States. Aurora Health Care (Milwaukee, WI) is the largest health care system in the state of Wisconsin with thirteen hospitals and an 800-physician medical clinic. BayCare Clinic (Green Bay, WI) is the largest independent medical group within Northeastern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula, providing specialty healthcare in 20 specialty areas.
Aurora and BayCare came together in 1998 to develop a partnership which is strong and growing today. The partners agreed to develop a joint venture and build a tertiary hospital in east Green Bay and an ambulatory campus in west Green Bay.
The joint venture built Aurora BayCare Medical Center and opened it as a tertiary hospital in September of 2001. They also built Aurora BayCare Health Center, the westside ambulatory campus, and opened it in November of 2002.
